Comparison
Kaleido Ads or Canva?
Canva and Kaleido Ads don’t do the same job. Canva is a full design tool for almost anything visual. Kaleido Ads does one thing: it adapts an ad to every ad format, with no layout work. Here are the differences, without overselling either side.
In short
- Choose Canva if you want to create everything (posts, videos, presentations, posters) and you like building your visuals yourself.
- Choose Kaleido Ads if you have an offer to advertise and want every format (Meta, Google Display, custom sizes) in a single request, without building them one by one.
- Both together works too: keep your design tool for everything else, and let Kaleido Ads handle your ad sizes.
How each tool adapts an ad
In Canva, you start from a design and convert it to other sizes with the resize feature (Magic Resize). According to Canva’s help center, it is included in paid plans (Pro, Teams, Enterprise, Education, Nonprofits). Then you check and adjust each format: where the text sits, how the photo is cropped, what overflows.
In Kaleido Ads, you describe your offer once (or drop in an ad that already works). The AI creates a scene for each ad shape (square, portrait, vertical, landscape) around your product. Your headline, offer, button and logo are then placed automatically and stay readable in every format, even thin banners.
Point by point
| Point | Canva | Kaleido Ads |
|---|---|---|
| What it’s for | Design of all kinds: posts, videos, presentations, print | Ad visuals and their sizes only |
| Adapting to several formats | Resize (paid plans), then manual adjustments | Every chosen format in one request, laid out automatically |
| The photo in each format | Your design fitted to the new size | A new scene for each shape, your product kept as is |
| Text | You place and style it yourself | Placed automatically, editable for free after generating |
| Video and animation | Yes | No, still images (PNG) only for now |
| Templates and graphic elements | A very large library | None: everything starts from your offer and your brand |
| Teamwork | Yes | No, one person per account for now |
| Direct link to Meta Ads or Google Ads | Depends on the integrations Canva offers | No: you download the files and upload them yourself |
| Trial | Free plan, with some features reserved for paid plans | Your first ad free in every format, no credit card |
What Kaleido Ads doesn’t do (yet)
No video, no templates to customize, no teamwork, and no direct upload to your ad managers. If that’s what you need, a general design tool will serve you better.
The simplest test: try it with your own photo
